I bought my Elky back in 1989. In 1995, I disassembled it and had it sandblasted & galvanized, and subsequently painted and painstakingly eassembled it with the help of a couple of friends. The color, which previously was Dark Blue & Light Blue two-tone, was now '92-'93 Geo Storm Turquoise, a very nice bright metallic basecoat/clearcoat paint. A total of 5 clearcoat layers have been applied.

This restoration work commenced in November '95, and took the better part of that winter. All in all, 267.5 man-hours and the equivalent of US$4000 have been invested in this restoration project - mostly because we did all the work ourselves.

Here are some more pictures of my Elky as well as my other previous cars.

This was my second El Camino - I've owned a '73 model, with a 350 CID V8. Bought it in '76, sold it in '86. Lived the next 3 years with a Mazda 626 (Big Mistake - my first and last Japanese car!). My other car at present is a '96 Chrysler Neon. My first car was a 1964 Chevelle Malibu wagon, with an inline 194 CID six and 3-speed column shift.
